Early in 2015, District 9 and Elysium Director Neil Blomkamp released a number of concept art pieces for what he would love to see in a new Alien movie. At the time, Blomkamp let people know that the art was something he had commissioned and there was nothing officially in place with 20th Century Fox, the Alien movies rights owner.
Blomkamp appears to have impressed the right people at the studio, as he has now been named as Director for a new Alien movie to be released after Prometheus 2 is completed. There has been no official announcement whether Sigourney Weaver will be involved, but it's very obvious from the concept art that Blomkamp released, he sees the franchise's star as integral to his vision. Given Weaver's involvement in Blomkamp's Chappie, it's not unreasonable to speculate that the two of them have engaged in some level of conversation about the direction the franchise could take given the way Alien: Resurrection ended.
Blomkamp released this image of Ripley in a variant of the Space Jockey suit featured in the original 1979 film and reinterpreted in Prometheus.
